A Mental Health Support Worker is required to work within a specialist private supported living service based in Harrow! •Do you know someone who would be interested in this role? We offer a £250 referral bonus per successful candidate that is referred* Temporary pay rate: •Standard Hourly: £11ph ltd •Sleep in: £40 per sleep Hours and length of contract: •FULL TIME •Mixture of shifts on a Rota Basis: oMonday to Friday: 10am-6pm oThen Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday 1pm-7pm •1-2 months contract length with likelihood of extension •The manager is looking for the position to be filled ASAP Daily Duties: You will work within a private supported living service that provides recovery-focused services for adults with mental health needs. Service users have a variety of complex needs including dual diagnosis (mental health and learning disability), Personality Disorder and Autistic Spectrum Disorder including Asperger's Syndrome. As a support worker you will provide high quality and compassionate care to the service users, be responsible for their general well-being and help them to live as independently as possible with the end goal of helping them make their transition into living independently in the community. Daily duties include but are not limited to: •Providing physical, emotional, spiritual and social support to service users •Working closely with staff and tenants in promoting individual packages of care that reflect the person's chosen lifestyle •Supporting tenants in leisure, education and employment services inside and outside of the home including escorting to appointments and social activities •Support with developing cooking skills and healthy eating habits •Assisting tenants in maintaining their personal hygiene where necessary •Supporting with regular social events, day trips and barbeques •Giving medication as required •Completing written reports and notes •Supporting tenants accessing benefits e.g. housing benefit, income support, DLA etc Person specification: Recent relevant experience and must be DBS cleared.
