Montgomery-House Surgery, Bicester, OX26 6HT
Competitive Salary package + Funded CPD
Full Time (7.5 hrs per day, Monday to Friday)
We are looking to recruit a Minor Illness qualified ANP or Paramedic Practitioner to join our Urgent Same Day Access team to care for our 15,600 patients.
Ideally you will have a minor illness/urgent experience in a GP/Urgent Care Centre setting with appropriate qualifications and experience to enable you to slot into our clinical team, but just as important is having the right team ethos and personality to work within a primary care team of GPs and nurses.
For the ideal candidate they will be given the responsibility of effectively running the Same Day Access on a day to day basis, and developing it over the next few years.
Supported by our Duty GP (for complex cases and the very young), and our Minor Illness Nurses, you will triage same day requests (received by the Practice through our patient online Minor Illness software or by phone) either to telephone advice (80%) and/or face to face consultation (20%). Home visits to house bound patients may also be needed. The role is busy, challenging at times with lots of variety, but also very rewarding.
Minor Illness in primary care is not a simple protocol driven exercise but one where the clinician is aiming to recognise the serious from the routine to those patients just needing reassurance, and treat accordingly. Therefore being adaptable to the issues presented and recognising your own limitations and when to use the skills and knowledge in the team is important.
We are an innovative training practice with considerable experience in training doctors, medical students and nurses, with a great team ethos across the whole Practice.
Our current building has recently been fully refurbished and is a lovely open and light environment in which to work; but not wanting to stand still, we will be moving into a new purpose built surgery in ~2022 for up to eventually 30,000 of our patients, which will allow us to continue to grow and develop and offer even better health care to our patients potentially with our own dedicated Minor Illness area. This will provide the opportunity to develop our team further with opportunities for career progression.
Application by CV and covering letter.
Should you wish to visit our Practice and meet our clinical and non-clinical team or have any enquiries, then please contact Steve Sharpe by email or on [Click here to apply].
Please note interviews are ongoing throughout the period. We may not be able to respond to all applicants.
