Service Care Solutions are looking for a Typist to work in a MIR (Major Incident Room) as part of a contract for the Police in the Manchester area.
The main responsibilities of this role are:
To be responsible for word processing of all documentation required by the investigation team, including statements, reports, surveillance logs, interview tapes and prosecution documents.
To update the HOLMES database with specified information such as messages and action results.
To provide balanced, accurate and reliable typed summary of a taped recorded interview in accordance with the Manual of Guidance (see additional notes).
To produce the summary of the tape-recorded interview within pre-trial issues and other defined time scales.
To ensure the security of the tape and associated documents.
To distribute documentation to officers for submission to the Senior Investigating Officer.
To maintain a computerised record of all tape summaries prepared and to preserve such records for specified periods.
To proof read all documentation to ensure that it has been produced accurately.
To provide clerical assistance including maintenance of filing systems, photocopying and operation of the facsimile machine, and other duties on behalf of the management team.
To ensure compliance with statutory requirements in relation to information management including the Data Protection Act 1998, the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and the Guidance on the management of Police Information (MOPI) 2010, as appropriate.
Be advised, this is a police based role.
It is advisable that candidates have had security clearance previously, or a DBS within the last 3 years.
