We at South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) have exciting opportunities within our dynamic and innovative urgent care service which is driven by saving lives and ensuring our patients receive the care that they need.

We are looking to recruit reliable and enthusiastic Dental call handlers to join our motivated, friendly and hardworking team based in Otterbourne, Winchester to support the smooth running of our Dental Advisory Service. We offer part time hours, up to 25 hours per week.


Working within this role you will carry out telephone triage in a sensitive manner providing assessment, advice and information in line with clinical pathways, and referring to other services where appropriate.

Essential Requirements:

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure

  • Good level of computer literacy

  • Ability to communicate effectively

Desirable Requirements:

  • Call centre experience

  • Motivated towards further professional development

  • Understanding of GDPR and audit practices

  • Flexible working approach

  • IT qualifications

Successful candidates will be required to complete a seven weeks training programme.Week 1 will be full time training covering internal systems and NHS triage assessments followed by mentoring period up to six weeks. We offer continued support throughout this role.

The interviews will take place on the 31st January 2019 and 1st February 2019.

Successful candidates should be available for training from 4th March 2019.
