Telephone Triage Paramedic

Calling All Paramedics

 111 Clinical Telephone Triage Paramedic – Band 6 (£28,050 – £36,644) + Unsocial Allowance as per section 2 Agenda for Change.

We at South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) have exciting opportunities within our dynamic and innovative urgent care service which is driven by saving lives and ensuring our patients receives the care that they need.

We are looking to recruit reliable and enthusiastic Nurses to join our motivated, friendly and hardworking team of Clinicians based in Bicester, Oxfordshire to support the smooth running of our Telephone Triage Services.


 Working within this role you will carry out complex clinical telephone triage in a sensitive manner providing assessment, advice and information in line with clinical assessment software whilst utilising your knowledge, experience and professional judgement, referring to other services where appropriate.

 Essential Requirements:

  • HCPC registration

  • Registered general nurse (RN1, RNA)

  • Triage experience

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure

  • Good level of computer literacy

  • Ability to communicate effectively

  • Recent professional clinical experience

 Desirable Requirements:

  • Motivated towards further professional development

  • Understanding of Clinical Governance and audit practices

  • Flexible working approach

 Successful candidates will be required to complete a seven weeks fulltime training programme, covering internal systems, NHS pathways assessments and call centre mentoring. We offer continued support throughout this role.
