Job Description

NHS Healthcare Assistant - Dorset (Locum)

TLTP Medical is recruiting for several Band 2 Healthcare Assistants to support an NHS hospital-based project in Poole, Dorset.

We are a well-established medical agency, supplying Healthcare Assistants to the NHS, private hospitals as well as the community, in the tranquil settings of Dorset.

What does the role entail?

Your primary responsibility will be to support patients in hospital wards. You will work under indirect supervision of the clinical team and undertake task and duties delegated by the clinical team including:

Offer daily maintenance to patients and assist them with washing, showering and oral care
Applying lotions and creams, when required, especially around pressure areas.
Other healthcare assistant tasks include dressing and undressing patients, when necessary
Healthcare Assistants must monitor the progress of patients and report back to their families
You will need to have a keen interest in caring for patients and be able to provide care in a compassionate and dignified manner
You will need to develop and maintain relationships with all members of a multi-disciplinary team
You will have previous experience of acting in a caring role and have good interpersonal and communication skills
Qualifications and skills:

While an NVQ Level 2 or above is preferred, an induction as well as on-going training and development will be included within the role. Additionally, Healthcare Assistants and carers should be able to demonstrate a passion and enthusiasm for care.

Having a driving Licence and car is desirable.

In return, you will receive:

Excellent rates of pay of up to £15 per hour (via umbrella), plus weekly pay
Rates based on Umbrella Monday to Friday £10.23ph, Sat/Nights £13.00ph, Sun/Bank Holidays £15.00ph
Full training provided
Flexible shifts - full-time/part-time/ad hoc – you decide the number of days you wish to work
Shift times: early 07:00-15:00 / late 12:30-20:30 / long day 07:00-20:30
