About the Role:
Common Road is our new supported living service in Low Moor where we support one individual with specialist behavioural support needs, learning disabilities, autism and behaviours that challenge on a 2:1 basis.
As a superhero "Night Support Worker" you will deliver intense support with all aspects of everyday living to encourage their independence and support them to lead the most fulfilling life possible, incorporating both therapy and social based activities. You must be resilient, flexible and composed in your approach as this will be a challenging environment to work in, although equally rewarding. You will understand the importance of reflective practice and be involved in debriefs and incident analysis to ensure the best possible outcomes for the individual.
Whilst no two days or nights are the same typically, you'll help the people we support with everyday challenges such as personal care, meal preparation, housekeeping, medication, attending health appointments, maintaining relationships and taking part in hobbies & activities. Crucially, enabling them to carry out tasks, chores and hobbies that most people take for granted but are meaningful to the people we support.
Due to the needs of the individual you will be supporting previous experience with autism and/or challenging behaviour is required.
We have 1 position available for 35hrs per week working waking nights shifts inclusive of bank holidays and weekend working. Although this role is predominantly based in Low Moor, it will also involve training, induction and occasional work at our registered service in Heaton so you must be happy to travel to both locations.
