Therapy Services, Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford
Occupational Therapy is highly valued at Mid Essex Hospital Trust with a team of 29 qualified staff working across the general in-patient wards. We are in need of forward thinking HCPC registered Occupational Therapists who are keen to progress their career and clinical skills in this fast-paced, varied and stimulating setting.
Our rotational posts give you opportunities to work in a variety of clinical settings carrying out assessments and treatment with patients to facilitate safe and timely discharge. Under the banner of Therapy Services we are an integrated Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy service working closely with the wider Multidisciplinary team.
The band 5 rotations are for 4 months across the following areas: Orthopaedics, Surgery/Respiratory, Medical, Stroke, Elderly Medicine, St Andrew’s Centre – Plastic surgery and burns, Emergency floor - including Frailty
Our band 6 rotations are for 8 months across the following areas: Orthopaedics (Broomfield and Braintree Community Hospital), Emergency Floor – including A&E and Frailty, Stroke, Elderly Medicine, General Medicine, Surgical/respiratory
You will have experience of the acute hospital setting either as a student, or as a band 5 and will use excellent assessment and problem solving skills.
Therapy Services is a friendly and supportive department with a strong focus on professional and personal development, and a commitment to regular clinical supervision for all staff, as well as rotational and annual appraisal.
There is a requirement for the post holder to participate in our rostered weekend and public holiday service.

MEHT contracts are subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period.
All Registered Nurse/Midwife/Theatre Practitioner or ODP you will be required to take a Drug Calculation Test. (please note 100% pass mark required)
All HCA/HCSW/MCA will be required to take a Literacy and Numeracy test (80% pass required) as part of the pre employment process.
