Scrub Nurse or ODP | Theatre | Band 5 / 6 depending on experience | Washington | Full or Part Time

Spire Washington is a 35 in-patient bedded hospital with 10 consultation and 2 treatment rooms based just off junction 63 of the A1 with great commuter links. Our Hospital offers a range of services and facilities including four operating theatres covering specialities including Orthopaedics and Gynaecology and a full Diagnostic suite.

Duties and responsibilities:

The successful Scrub Practitioner will prepare the operating theatre room for surgery in relation to instrumentation, equipment and supplies required for specific operative procedures, ensuring waste is kept to a minimum. You will run a theatre list without supervision and supervise/mentor junior staff (subject to experience). You will have the opportunity to develop your skills as the unit performs various surgical procedures.

• Assessing patients health and well-being across a complex and changing caseload
• You will be responsible for patient care, setting up for cases and assisting in the day to day running of theatres
• Develop own knowledge and skills and that of others

Who we're looking for:

• You must be NMC Registered Nurse or a HCPC registered Operating Department Practitioner
• You will be proactive and enthusiastic
• Excellent communication and organisational skills are key to continue our high standards of patient care.
