We are currently looking to recruit Nurses to join the Oncology Unit of one of their leading hospitals based in Central London. The hospital offers services across a range of specialties including Oncology, Cardiology, Neuro, Diagnostic and Paediatric services. In the Cancer unit they treat a wide range of cancers including Breast, CNS, Colo-rectal, Gynaecology, Lung, Skin and Urological. You will work to provide both pre and post-operative care to patients. Working hours are days, nights and weekends on a rotational basis. Your role will involve
As and experienced oncology nurse you will be responsible for planning and delivering appropriate care for admissions and discharges to the unit, working to ensure close monitoring of patients to avoid/predict deterioration and manage care appropriately. You will comply and promote infection control standards and co-ordinate with other team members to ensure patients to be readmitted are rescheduled and booked according to procedure. Maintaining a safe environment for patients under your care will be part of your daily responsibilities along with any other ad hoc duties required by senior members of staff.
To be considered for this role you would have at least 1 years experience working in Oncology. Chemotherapy training is desirable however the training can be offered to the right candidates with a real passion for working in this field of nursing. You will have a thorough understanding of the current issues in Oncology and keep up to date with current practices. You will be the type of nurse who can adapt easily to become part of the team and you will have an ability to work well under pressure and communicate effectively.
