Job Title: OOH - Small Animal Emergency Small Veterinary Surgeon
Location of the Job: Kent, Canterbury, South East England
Few places in the world can match the beauty of the countryside in this location, with stately homes, lakes, hillside views and castles to explore.
The practice itself is ideal for hitting the shops and restaurants, or making use of the excellent travel network to reach larger cities, such as London on the commuter main line railway.
Airports such as Gatwick and Heathrow are under 1hr away too.
We are an independently run business seeking a professional, caring and compassionate Emergency Small Animal Vet, to work as part of our OOH team.
The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the job - Consults, Medicine and Surgery. Must be confident with sole charge OOH.
CPD is provided as the company believe in investing in their people and infrastructure to provide the best care.
There is the opportunity to complete a certificate for the right person!
Sleep in position: It is envisaged that unless there is an emergency that the OOH Vet on shift would sleep in the provided on-site accommodation.

The Job Role details and Key Responsibilities:
• All round Experienced Small Animal Vet
• Confident with consultation, medical and surgical treatment of patients
• Must be capable and confident in Sole charge
• Willing to undertake Emergency and OOH work
• Undertake home visits when required
• Work closely with the nurse to manage inpatients
• Sleep in position
Ideal Person Skills and Qualifications:
• Must be RCVS Registered
• UK Experience in a hospital environment
• Experience of working in busy practices and emergency situations
• Good communication
• Excellent team working
• Ability to work with tight timescales
• Fluent spoken and written English
• Good numeracy
• Driving License (or the ability to get one before taking up position)
• Interested in the latest technology as we have lots of new gadgets including digital x-ray, keyhole surgery, in house lab etc etc
Week One: Mon-Sun nights on call 17:30-08:00
Week Two: Sat and Sun 08:00-18:00
Week Three: Off
£40,000-£55,000 (depending on experience)
