Anaesthetics and Recovery Practitioner | 12 month FTC | Horley | Salary dependent on experience | Fantastic CPD on offer | No night shifts

Spire Gatwick Park are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Anaesthetics and Recovery Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner / ODP to join their team on a 12 month FTC. This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in one of the UK’s leading Private Healthcare Providers with a possibility for the position to go permanent.

You will have the opportunity to work alongside some of the regions most experienced Consultants, covering a varied and diverse caseload across general, orthopaedic, gynaecology and urology. Full training is available to allow you to broaden your experience across our surgical specialities and career development is readily available including the option to complete the SFA course.

Spire Gatwick Park Hospital is just a few miles away from Gatwick Airport. Central London and Victoria station are a 30-minute train ride away.  The Hospital consists of two outpatient areas and a Bupa Health Assessment centre. There are two ward areas with 29 single rooms, a two bedded emergency recovery unit with a sixteen-bedded day care unit, and five single rooms. There are three operating theatres, two with laminar flow.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Supporting in assessing patient’s health and well-being across a complex and changing caseload
  • Promoting best practice and contributing towards quality improvements
  • Assisting Anaesthetists in Theatre, acting as a patient advocate.
  • Ensuring Theatre is safe for procedure, taking part in briefing meetings, safety checks and ensuring the Theatre is stocked
  • Providing Nursing care and monitoring patients post anaesthetics

Who we're looking for

  • You must be a Qualified Nurse or ODP with a valid pin
  • You must have at least 2 years post-qualification experience in Anaesthetics and Recovery
  • Compassionate and able to showcase excellent patient care
  • Excellent communication skills
