Job Description

Paediatric Nurse Practitioner required in Southampton this service has been established for 10 years acquired by this private organisation in 2014.
The Treatment Centre provides inpatient and day case elective surgery with associated outpatient and diagnostic clinics across 9 specialties Orthopaedics, Oral Surgery, Gynaecology, General Surgery, ENT (ear, nose and throat), Urology, Eye Surgery, Endoscopy and Pain Management.
The Treatment Centre has 44 patient beds with 5 theatres that operate Monday to Saturday. Minor, intermediate and major elective procedures are carried out across the 9 specialties.

£36,000 - £38,000 + 25 days A/L, sick pay, up to 5% pension, life assurance, retail vouchers, vision vouchers, excellent work life balance

Paediatric Nurse required to work in their Minor Injury Unit where the successful candidate will need to be able to physically assess and diagnose and treat children in the minor injury unit.

The role is to assist in the provision of a quality nurse led service to patients attending the Walk in Centre.

The role requires you to function autonomously whilst being a support to less experienced members of staff. You must be able to assess patients, plan their care, administer treatment and discharge them or refer them as appropriate to other healthcare professionals / external agencies.


  • Registered Nurse with Paeds or Dual trained current registration RCN
  • Paediatric Life Support Certificate
  • Proven post registration experience including evidence of working in any of these following clinical areas; Minor Injuries / Illness Units Accident & Emergency Primary Care environment
  • Evidence of current paediatric experience
  • Experience of working autonomously
  • Evidence of team leadership and supervision of junior staff
  • Evidence of teaching and assessing others
  • Paediatric Life Support provider
  • Independent Nurse Prescriber or willing to undertake course
