Do you fancy a managerial position with the ability to remain patient facing? We are looking for a caring, compassionate and experienced Nurse Manager who has experience working within the disease area of Parkinson's and is looking to lead and empower a dedicated, innovative and highly skilled team. You will be working on a service that delivers education and support to patients who are receiving a specific long-term treatment that will help with their Parkinson's disease. These are autonomous roles that allow the Nurses to be responsible for delivering outstanding patient support in hospitals and in the community.
What will you be doing as the Parkinson's Specialist Nurse Manager?
This role will allow you lead a team of six Nurses who will be delivering excellent patient care and support within hospitals and patients homes as well as the opportunity to still be patient facing and carry out patient care. The service is country-wide and as the Nurse Manager you will be expected to travel to various locations across the country with overnight stays necessary at times depending on location.
Successful applicants will receive training to deliver a best in class Parkinson's therapy service to patients in the first stages of the treatment as well as giving the patient outstanding after care.
Daily duties in regards to the Clinical line management of the Nurse team would include taking responsibility for the clinical competency and clinical standards of the service and Nurses as well as clinical governance. You will be handling clinical queries and providing appropriate guidance and support, ensuring the team are delivering key activities in addition to coaching and mentoring the team.
You will also have the pleasure of onboarding new Nurses onto the service if necessary and ensuring they receive all the correct training and equipment to carry our their role effectively in addition to making sure the current team are up to date with on-going training.
You will be involved with the clinical validation of the Nurse team and will liaise with the NHS and client.

Once a month, you will have the responsibility to be with the patient in hospital for the first stages of their therapy to titrate and ensure the patients are receiving the correct dosage for them before they can be discharged. You will be the 'go to' person for any questions in regards to the therapy for the Nurses and Doctors within the hospital.
Your patient caseload will understandably be smaller than the Nurses due to extra managerial duties but you will also be carrying out one visit per month with each of your Nurses for coaching and mentoring purposes.
Please note: This role could involve some staying away from home during the week depending on where the hospital and patient is based.
What skills/experience will you need as the Parkinson's Specialist Nurse Manager?
You will be a Registered Nurse with neurology experience or you've had exposure to Parkinson's disease. You will have experience in managing a team but still have that drive and passion for delivering excellent patient care. You will need to have a full driving license and have a strong willingness to travel and have the availability to be stay away from home on occasions during the week.
