Permanent Band 5 Adolescent Mental Health Nurse, Maudsley.
Salary: £24,907 - £30615 per annum. Dependent on post qualification experience.
Opportunity to join a dedicated nursing team, treating adolescents with acute mental health illness, based at Maudsley Hospital, London.
An experienced Mental Health Nurse is needed the join a busy team. The role involves assessing and supporting the patients experiencing acute mental health crisis, offering high standards and levels of care.
Snowsfields Adolescent Unit (SAU) is a National & Specialist CAMHS Inpatient Unit admitting adolescents between the ages of 12 to 18 years old. The unit is part of the South London Partnership, and is located at the Maudsley Hospital. SAU is an 11-bedded mixed-sex unit for young people with an acute mental health illness who cannot be safely cared for at home or in a community setting. the unit also caters for day patients.
There is an offering of a broad range of treatments, including medication, cognitive behavioural therapy, group work, psycho educational family work, systemic family work and art psychotherapy. Our multi-disciplinary team includes psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, teachers, occupational therapists, social workers and other therapists.
They maintain close links with the young person's referring team to ensure they experience a smooth transition back to the community. The ward is part of the larger CAMHS inpatient care pathway across the South London Partnership, which includes crisis care, two further GAU's, CAMHS PICU and an Enhanced Treatment Service.

Our Trust headquarters is located at Denmark Hill less than 5 minutes from the train station (zone 2).
