Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting a Pharmacist Independent Prescriber (PIP) to work within a new fully integrated adult Substance Misuse Recovery Service in Herefordshire.
The client is offering a permanent opportunity working on either a full or part time basis paying up to £45,000 per year (pro rata).
As a PIP, you will be involved with prescribing Opioid Substitution Treatment (OST) interventions, benzodiazepine reductions, alcohol and opioid detoxifications and relapse prevention medications. In addition, you will have a proactive role in medicines optimisation work and supporting the locally commissioned community pharmacy services.
As part of the Clinical Team you will also provide support for health care assessments, providing Blood Borne Virus screening and vaccinations (training will be given to support your role in vaccination administration if you have not done this before) and will work closely with primary and secondary care and social care services.
We are seeking a Pharmacist Independent Prescriber (PIP) that will join a brand new multi-disciplinary team of professionals. We require an excellent communicator, with the ability to develop support packages that are innovative, flexible and tailored to the needs of each individual.
We are looking for a compassionate individual who loves supporting people with different needs, genuinely interested in helping them, and possesses a deep level of empathy, understanding and patience.
The applicant must be a Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) at Independent Prescriber level
The applicant must hold a Masters in Pharmacy (MPharm) or equivalent
The applicant must hold a Prescribing Certificate in Independent Prescribing
The applicant must hold Minimum 3 years post registration experience as a Pharmacist
The applicant must have experience of working with Substance Misuse Service Users
The applicant must have clinical expertise in drug and alcohol related health issues and evidence based practice, including relevant public health and harm reduction
