Practice Clinical Pharmacist

We are looking for a highly motivated and adaptable registered pharmacist to join our friendly and enthusiastic team at Queensway Medical Centre.   This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a forward thinking practice working alongside our Medicine Management team, Doctors, Clinical Practitioners, Advanced Nurse Practitioner and dedicated Nurse Chronic Disease management team.

You will work as part of our multidisciplinary team to manage repeat prescription authorisations and reauthorisations, acute prescription requests, management of medicines on transfer of care. You will be expected to perform face to face medication reviews, support the management of patients with long term conditions, provide telephone consultations, liaise with secondary care providers, lead in prescribing meetings with practice staff, liaise with the local CCG pharmacist as part of Medicine Management team, and lead on quality improvement and clinical audit in medicine management.

Applicants will have a post graduate diploma or higher degree in clinical pharmacy, and be an independent prescriber.  Previous experience of working in a Hospital or GP practice is essential, Salary is negotiable according to experience and individual skills.


We are based in the heart of Poulton-Le-Fylde, an affluent town just outside Blackpool. Train station has direct access to Preston and Manchester.

  • Training practice with three GP trainers linked to North Western Deanery, Medical student trainer linked to Manchester Medical School and Uclan.

  • Part time role – two days per week
