Pre-Assessment Nurse - Outpatient Department

Eclypse Recruitment are seeking a Pre-Assessment Nurse for a private treatment centre in Somerset.
A range of treatments and also provide diagnostic services, using the latest MRI, ultrasound and plain film x-ray technology. Treatments and services​ include General Surgery, Orthopaedics, ENT, Gastro, Endoscopy, Urology, diagnostic

You will function as a clinical practitioner within the Outpatient and Pre-assessment Service and will be responsible for the delivery of patient care, managing and organising a work load on a daily basis. In addition you will work with all members of the multi professional team practicing and maintaining a high standard of clinical care.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Recent experience at Band 5 level or equivalent in an acute surgical setting
  • Experience in a pre-assessment/outpatient setting
  • The ability to teach/train/ develop Health Care Assistants
  • Familiarity with Safety and Infection control policy and procedures
  • The desire to undertake appropriate pre-assessment qualifications and courses


  • NMC Registered General Nurse Part 1
  • Basic/ Intermediate Life Support Skills
  • ECG and Venepuncture training

The post holder will be required to work approximately 37.5 hours per week across 5 days if full time, part time hours are open to negotiation. There are no night shifts within this department and a few evenings, Saturdays and Bank Holidays. Shift times can also be flexible, meaning this is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to regain some work/life balance
