Redford Hearth are currently working on behalf of one of the largest Care providers in the East Midlands, to find Nursing students specialising in Mental Health to join a preceptorship scheme as a newly qualified nurse.
The scheme is aimed at giving Nurses a broad, hands on experience of the day to day life of an RMN in a variety of Mental Health settings, both open and secure. The company have a dedicated training facility and a variety of services including Forensic Locked and Low secure hospitals, Acquired Brain injury unit, EMI homes and personality disorder units.
The Company are a medium sized provider, with around 30 services, predominantly across the East Midlands, so progression between services is easily achievable. The company have a fantastic culture which doesn't rest solely on profit making, unlike a lot of the larger competitors in the market.
Responsibilities of the Role:
-Assisting in the provision of high quality care to patients with a variety of mental health conditions.
-Providing a safe therapeutic environment through the provision of 'best practice' care based on CQC and NMC guidelines.
- Assisting in the supervision and development of junior staff, Support Workers and students.
-Supporting the development of evidence based practice.
-Being responsible for the co-ordination, assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individual patient programmes of care- with a focus on risk assessment and risk management strategies, ensuring that the requirements of the Care Programme Approach are met in a timely manner.
-Reporting ill health amongst patients and making requests for RC/GP/professional visits where necessary.
-Administering prescribed medicines and documenting the same in accordance with Company procedure and Healthcare Commission guidelines.
