SRG is delighted to be supporting one of our growing Cambridge Biotech's with their search for an experienced Principal Scientist/Team Leader. Joining the antibody discovery team, you will support the wider business with their ongoing development of antibody therapeutics to treat a range of ongoing and autoimmunity disease models. Using your extensive experience in immunity and antibody-based drug discovery, you will lead a multi-functional team to manage a selection of drug discovery projects (FACs sorting & NGS pipeline).

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the antibody discovery team, providing both technical expertise and operational support. Working closely with the bioinformatics and project team to ensure the effective development of their data pipeline, target assessment and candidate selection.

Essential skills required:

* PhD degree (or equivalent) in Immunology or a related field, with extensive industrial experience in research and development

* Proven experience of managing a team of scientists within a research environment

* Proven experience of managing antibody discovery research projects, including design, resource planning, objective setting and monitoring, data analysis, reporting and quality assessment.

* Proven industrial experience in NGS technologies, ideally single cell.

* Proven hands-on experience of flow cytometry.

* Candidates must demonstrate a thorough understanding of different NGS platforms for library generation and sequencing technologies.

* In addition to your proven technical background, candidates must display excellent communication skills and have the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

* Effective leadership and coaching skills are also essential, along with good attention to detail and effective time management.

In addition to the essential skills, proven experience of B cell biology (including response of these to immunisation), knowledge of natural antibody production from B cells and cell culture would also be desirable.
