We are recruiting for a Service Delivery Assistant to support prisoners across the North of England (Cumbria, North East, North West, York & Humber). 

Please note: you will need access to your own vehicle to be suitable for this position.

The Role
As Service Delivery Assistant, you will support prisoners to form Health Council in Northern Prisons, enabling their views and voices to be expressed and influence service delivery with respect to their healthcare. 

This role will be working with challenging groups within varying categories of prisons, leading on service user engagement whilst delivering safe, secure and an effective service. This is a role within a team that can really develop a service and be part of its success in informing health provisions for the future prison population. 

Your duties and responsibilities will include:


  • Organising and facilitating patient engagement activities in the form of focus groups, interviews and 1:1 sessions with prisoners across the prison estate
  • Supporting with additional projects as requested with specific healthcare topics including procurements of prison healthcare
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with prison and healthcare managers across the prison estate
  • Identifying and maintaining effective channels of communications, appropriate to prison category, with service users across the prison estate
  • Supporting the business development team with new opportunities
  • Attending networking events to broaden knowledge, business opportunities and promote the ethos and vision of the company
  • Analysing prisoner feedback and provide high quality reports on this feedback

About You
For the role of Service Delivery Assistant, you will need to have or be:


  • Level 3 Health and Social Care or equivalent experience
  • Experience of working within the criminal justice system
  • Experience of working with people with lived experience (PwLE)
  • Experience of facilitating groupwork and or 1-1 with service users
  • Experience of report writing and proven IT skills
  • Knowledge of working with and around the prison regime and how healthcare works within a prison setting
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to develop and deliver services which are accessible and responsive to the need of service users
  • Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing at all levels, with individuals, groups, organisations and the public
  • Able to deal calmly and effectively with conflict
  • Able to work with groups from different backgrounds and cultures
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to develop and deliver services which are accessible and responsive to the need of service users
  • Able to work both within a team and independently, whilst supporting senior management
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively and meet deadlines amid a range of competing demands
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work flexibly to overcome challenges
  • Able to travel independently across the North of England

Hours & Rewards
As Prison Service Delivery Assistant, you will work 40 hours per week, however part-time applicants may be considered. There is a salary on offer of £25,000 per annum (pro rata if part-time).
