CK Group are currently recruiting for a Process Chemist to join a materials and polymers manufacturing company at their site based in Ware, on a 6 month fixed term contract basis, with a view to going permanent thereafter.

The Company:
Our client develops and manufactures high performance polymers for use in various applications. They are able to offer a bespoke service and their products help their customers to add value. They are now looking for a Process Chemist to join the team to oversee large scale reactions and chemical processes, mainly working in the following areas: reactor, filtration, sieving, blending, packaging and laboratory areas of the factory. Your normal working day will be from 8am-5pm Monday-Friday, but you will be required to be available for overtime work at short notice. The company is able to offer a salary in the range of circa £23,000 depending on experience.

Location:
This role is located near Hertford, easily commutable from North London, Hoddesdon, Harlow, Stevenage and surrounding areas.

The Role:
Your main duties of this Process Chemist will be:
-Non-hazardous and hazardous chemical handling
-Monitoring all reactor processes, including washing, filtration, drying, sieving processes
-Accurate batch labelling, issuing labels and associated documentation
-To operate production safely in line with the ISO 9001, ISO13485 and MDD Quality System Management as well as EA compliance
-To manage the factory floor personnel and equipment and trouble shooting day-to-day issues
-Reporting plant faults and taking steps to repair them as per the instruction of a Senior Manager
-To advise on the technical aspects of production at the plant, including chemical health and safety, possible improvements to plant etc.
-To use in-house company QC databases, manufacturing (SAP) databases and records as required as well as maintaining raw material CoSHH and Health & Safety files for all materials used

Your Background:
The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:
-Degree qualified in Chemistry or equivalent - essential
-Some experience of following instructions and setting up reactions would be beneficial
-You will need to be a good team worker, with the ability to follow instructions quickly and accurately
-You will be required to have an excellent attitude towards time keeping
-Willingness and flexibility to work overtime would be advantageous
