SRG Cambridge is delighted to be supporting one of our discovery clients with their hire for a Process Development Scientist. This organisation specialises in the research and development of innovative drugs, largely focusing on the area of antibiotic resistance. As part of their process development programme, you will utilise their innovation technology platform to trial and research a range of delivery models. This position will involve considerable time spent in a CAT 2 laboratory and you will be required to visit external sites.
Key Responsibilities:
Development and optimisation of upstream and downstream processes, to support the research and development of early stage therapeutic products
Create, update and amend company SOP's
Manage a number on going projects, reporting data & findings to the technical board
Working closely with colleagues and external stakeholders
Adhering to strict project deadlines & creating contingency plans as required
Ideal candidates will hold a PhD (or equivalent) in a Life Sciences discipline, with a proven industrial background within Upstream and Downstream processing. Candidates must possess experience in the development and optimisation of upstream and downstream processes, within an early stage discovery setting. Experience of managing projects within an R&D setting to overcome research challenges is also critical. Candidates must also demonstrate excellent communication skills and have the ability to develop effective partnerships with colleagues and external clients.
