A fast growth FMCG manufacturer has an exciting opportunity for a Public Affairs Assistant to join its regulatory compliance team. Among other duties, your main role will be to liaise with legislators, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders and manage the company's day-to-day relationships with trade associations and other organisations. To be considered, you must have previous experience in a public affairs, or related role, ideally gained within a public body. Experience, or strong interest, in tobacco or vape policies is essential.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Liaise with legislators, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
Devise and implement meaningful engagement strategies.
Manage the company's day-to-day relationships with trade associations and other organisations.
Monitor legislative changes (particularly in the UK & Europe) and report back to the business in order to ensure all products remain compliant in the country of sale.
Work alongside our Regulatory team to educate colleagues, clients and suppliers on the evolving regulatory landscape.
Prepare detailed market reports upon request using readily available resources.
Lead and support ongoing projects with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
Effectively communicate regulatory detail and Cuts Ice best practice in both internal and external communications.Skills and Experience Required:

Previous experience of working within either Westminster, one of the devolved institutions, or a background in public affairs is essential.
This role would suit someone with experience of, or a strong interest in tobacco policy or a related area.
Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to read and interpret complex legislative text.
Agile communication skills to be able to convey complex data and simplify it for presentation to a wider non-technical forum.
Excellent written and spoken English, with strong communication skills.
Ability to work on own initiative, whilst also being a team player.
Strong focus on timescales, with the ability to prioritise, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
Enjoys public speaking and presentation.
A second language would be an asset to the role
