Our Client is a leading international manufacturer and supplier of specialty chemicals. They have extensive representation in many varied sectors of industry.

They are now seeking a QC Laboratory Technician. This position will be based in Kidderminster, Worcestershire and is a Full-Time Permanent role reporting to the QA Manager

Please note that this position operates on a rotating 3 shift system based on 40 hours per week as follows: Monday to Friday 2pm to 10pm / Thursday to Wednesday 6am to 2pm / Sunday to Friday 10pm to 6am

Job Purpose

* To provide Quality Control function for the Kidderminster Production facility

* Responsibilities include quality approval of raw materials, finished products, and collaborating with fellow technical and commercial employees to form a cohesive customer focused team

Key Responsibilities

* To conduct Quality Control tests with accuracy / responsibility in accordance with procedures

* To record all results in accordance with procedures defining essential records

* To generate reports both internally and for customers as requested

* To draw attention to significant deficiencies in product performance, equipment and shortage in laboratory supplies

* Identify and report deficiency in lab equipment and shortage in laboratory supplies

* To complete / interpret statistical charts and out of control reports where necessary

* To perform physical analysis on all non-QC related materials requiring classification (i.e. Customer returns rework etc.)

* To liaise and assist in quality matters with the production department

* To assist with calibration requirements as required

* To maintain a high level of orderliness, cleanliness and housekeeping in the laboratory

* To apply systematic checks and care as are needed to prevent miss-identification or loss of identity between a sample and its parent batch

* To operate radio in a responsible manner in line with current guidance

* To use lone worker function as appropriate

* To act on lone worker alarm events as trained

* To act as incident controller for fire evacuations and site first aider

Qualifications and Experience

* Qualified to a minimum A Level Chemistry or equivalent years Laboratory experience

* Previous experience of working with chemical manufacturing preferred

* Ability to work within a busy team

* Ability to follow written procedures

* Good written and oral communication skills

* Safety Oriented

In return our client is offering a salary of £25,850 per annum basic plus comprehensive benefits including private healthcare, generous pension scheme and bonus. (Please Note: Also payable in addition to the basic salary will be a monthly allowance of £100.00 for Emergency responder responsibilities and £25.00 per month for First Aider – once the successful candidate is trained / qualified)
