Our client is one of the oldest Hospitals, located in the heart of London, specialising in Medical and Surgical care. They have several units spanned across two prestigious areas of London focused on providing world-class treatment to their patients. They have an expansive team of over 300 consultants who are supported by expertly qualified nurses offering care in various specialities including: Diagnostic & Radiology services, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Cardiology, Cosmetic, Dialysis & Endoscopy. This is a 250 bedded hospital with 17 Theatres, and Endoscopy unit, Radiology unit and Dialysis unit. Opportunities:
We are currently looking to recruit Staff Nurses to work on the Digestive Diseases Ward of the hospital. Ideally you would have experience at least 6 months post grad experience working in a similar setting and ideally experience of working in gastroenterology.
Working alongside the Senior Staff Nurses on the ward you will be responsible for ensuring the right standard of care is provided to all patients at all time. Your responsibility will cover all aspects of acute patient care, taking full responsibility for individual patient care by using the Roper, Logan and Tierney models. You will have an innate ability to quickly identify any issues or concerns and act accordingly and work in accordance with Clinical Governance and COSHH guidelines. Working as part of the team you will be competent in Phlebotomy, management of patients undergoing Parental and Enteral feeding, patients with stomas, epidural pain and PCA management. You will carry out these tasks on a daily basis while maintaining a safe environment for patients under your care. You will competently manage post operative patients following Colo-rectal/Gastro-intestinal surgery. You may also be assigned other ad hoc duties as required by senior members of staff and you will work to ensure confidentiality is adhered to at all times.
To be considered for this role you will have at least 6 months post-grad experience working in Gastroenterology. You will have experience with IV, Phlebotomy and Cannulation however training can be offered in certain areas if necessary to enthusiastic candidates. You will be a caring and compassionate nurse with strong attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure. Working as part of a team you will have excellent communication skills and be a good team player.
