Job Description

Registered General Nurse (RGN) (flexible shifts) Main responsibilities:-

  • Ensure that all Staff Members contribute to the best of their ability to the efficient running of the Home and the creation of an atmosphere conducive to the best interests of the residents. Duties may include acting up for the Deputy Home Manager in their absence.
  • Report any ill health amongst residents and make requests for GP/Professional visits where necessary.
  • Ensure that the residents Care Plans are completed and maintained in conjunction with residents, relatives and other Health Care Professionals, and in accordance with NMC guidelines & Company policy.
  • Assess all aspects of residents care needs, and provide health supervision and direct Nursing Care when required.
  • Assess social and health care needs of new residents and maintain ongoing assessment and review of all other residents.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure that each resident within the Home has an individualised Care Plan. The residents Care Plans to be reviewed on a bi- annual basis or more frequently as and when required, in accordance with NMC guidelines and Company policy
  • Carryout regular checks on residents at intervals determined by the Home Manager. Ensure a clear and concise handover report is given to all relevant Staff Members at the end of each shift.
  • Administer prescribed medicines and document the same in accordance with the Company’s procedure and NMC guidelines.
  • Practice maximum integrity in all dealings with residents personal and financial affairs, and avoid abuse of the privileged relationship which exists with residents.

Job Requirements

Registered General Nurse (RGN) (flexible shifts) Requirements:

  • Current Pin registration/ current Re-validation file and evidence of Re-validation portfolio.
  • Evidence of competence in working with Adults.
  • Team play.
  • Satisfactory DBS clearance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all level.
  • Genuine interest in working with the relevant resident gr.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.

Registered General Nurse (RGN) (flexible shifts)Desired to have:-

  • Previous Supervisory Experience

Previous experience of working with adults living with Dementia, Parkinson's and many other medical conditions.

  • Experience/qualification in care for relevant resident category.

Registered General Nurse (RGN) (flexible shifts)Salary & benefits:-

Salary – £15 - £17 p/h (depending on experience)
Contracted Hours: full time 38.5 p/w with the opportunity to pick up some extra shifts if possible
Shift Pattern: mixed (3 weeks on days, 1 week on nights), 1st week – 4 long shifts, 2nd – 3 long shifts
Qualifications required: ideally the candidates will be qualified with over two years’ experience within a nursing home environment and active NMC PIN
Days, Nights or Rotational: Flexible to work days and nights
