Summary

Would you like to integrate your nursing skills with acute and complex medical care?

We are looking for Registered Nurses to join our motivated nursing team on the Complex Medicine wards. These wards strive to deliver excellent and compassionate care to some of Oxfordshire's most complex medical patients.

Our patients are all admitted for emergency care against a background of long-term physical health conditions, and they may also experience mental health issues, cognitive impairment and challenging behaviour.

You will be joining an energetic and enthusiastic team of nurses, doctors, therapists and social care professionals who work together closely to manage the patients' care problems, promote recovery and re-enablement, and safe discharge from hospital.

You will enhance your nursing skills including close monitoring and managing patients who experience rapid deterioration in their physical health, and delivering the right care to maintain patients' safety and well-being in the hospital environment.

You will be supported by practice development programmes run by the Trust, as well as the practice development team within acute medicine. We are committed to supporting your continuing professional and career development, and after 12 months with us you will have the opportunity to enrol into frailty/advanced care courses and undertake further trainings such as airvo, NG intubation or tracheostomy.

The ward teams are also supported by the Trust's psychological medicine team according to patients' needs.

We are keen to help you build on your experience to help us deliver together a truly multi-professional approach to patient care.

If you are someone who enjoys the challenge of meeting a wide range of patients' individual needs in a fast-moving environment, values team working and has the ability to remain calm under pressure we want to hear from you so we can share more about working on Complex Medicine with you.
