As Registered Nurse at The Chocolate Quarter you'll coordinate and deliver high quality, evidence-based clinical and holistic care. You will role model your delivery of care and well-being to all care colleagues and will supervise the care team daily to ensure that people's dignity, equality, diversity and rights are promoted every day. Assessing and monitoring residents' clinical needs will be an important part of your role, applying clinical reasoning skills to each action. You'll make referrals to medical and multi-disciplinary specialists as required so appropriate care can be planned and implemented. You will manage medicines using Electronic systems and undertake clinical procedures such as venepuncture and intravenous medication. Showing a genuine concern for residents you'll build relationships of trust and maintain a positive working environment.
Other responsibilities include ensuring that all Health and Safety legislation and the St Monica Trust's policies are rigorously followed - from Safeguarding Adults and Infection Control to Medication and Confidentiality. You'll practice within the legal framework of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 Regulations and NMC's Code of Conduct 2015. You will display a passion for customers problem solving and continuous improvement. Demonstrating effective interpersonal communication and influencing skills. Additional duties include joining GPs on their rounds and documenting the outcomes of their visits; liaising regularly with pharmacists; overseeing medication and clinical stock and undertaking regular audit
What we're looking for
You should be a highly motivated Registered Nurse (adult level 1) with a current NMC registration. Experience in social care with older people, people living with disabilities and dementia, and those requiring rehabilitation and short term care, is essential for the role. You'll have the ability to ensure that the care is delivered to a very high standard whilst retaining a customer focus ethos and inspiring the team to enable the residents to lead a valued, fulfilling life. Experience working in a nursing home/ hospital/ community services/ social care setting or working with older people is crucial. You'll also have an in depth understanding of the ageing process and the desire to join a charity who recognises the importance of employing and retaining great people in an organisation where your voice will be valued.
