The Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) is in the heart of East Anglia. Norwich is one of the most vibrant and attractive cities in Europe. The Jenny Lind Children’s Hospital within the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital provides a full range of acute clinical services for children and young people, including more specialist services such as Oncology, Orthopaedics, Plastic Surgery, Gastroenterology, Ophthalmology, Rheumatology, Paediatric Medicine and Paediatric Surgery. Incorporating inpatient and ambulatory care the department provides family centered care to children and young people from Norfolk and the Eastern Region.

The Children’s Assessment Unit is open 24/7 and the Children’s Day Ward and Jenny Lind Out-Patients Department is open Monday – Friday.

Are you enthusiastic, compassionate, self motivated and want to develop your skills and knowledge in a busy friendly paediatric acute assessment unit. If so, this is the post for you!

We are looking to recruit experienced Paediatric Band 5 Nurses to join our team, working alongside our Nursing , ANP’s, Medical and Play Specialist colleagues. We are a 10 bedded unit, based within the Jenny Lind Hospital, which is a hospital within a hospital for children and young people. Our services include acute assessment unit, children’s day ward, outpatients and inpatient services.

CAU (Children’s Assessment Unit) is a direct referral service from ED, GP and community specialities. Our age range is 1 day to 16 years, multidisciplinary including medical, surgical, ENT, plastics and orthopaedics and more.

Shift pattern to include early, late, nights, weekends & bank holidays.

Full time: 37.5 hours per week
