Relief Support Workers
05 Oct 2019

Do you want to earn some extra money? Could you support people with learning disabilities with their hobbies and interests?
We are looking for more people to join our bank of Relief Support Workers working across our services in the Warrington area supporting adults with learning disabilities.
About the role
Relief staff cover the shifts when regular practitioners are off on annual leave, sick leave, on training courses or during other periods when we are short-staffed; Therefore there are no fixed shifts. You are under no obligation to accept any shifts which are offered and after three months you will automatically drop off the Relief register if you haven't worked. We do try to prepare the rotas one month in advance and will try where possible to find a good work-life balance to suit your needs. We can discuss your availability further at interview.
You will play a key part in assisting the people we support to live as independently as possible. You will join in with the activities they enjoy, such as going to clubs, the cinema, visiting family and friends etc. You will also help support them with domestic activities such as shopping, cooking, cleaning and also with personal care (where necessary).
You'll take your turn working shifts on a rota, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins.
This is a wonderful opportunity to make a positive difference to someone's life.
What we need from you
Firstly, you don't need experience to become a Support Worker but it's not easy. The work can be demanding and challenging at times but no 2 days are the same and the reward of seeing YOUR personal impact is incredibly inspiring and it's something you'll never forget.
As long as you have the passion and drive to want to make a real difference, we'll teach you the rest. With your key attributes and our training, together we can deliver the best possible support.
You will need to have a manual driving licence for this role in order to drive service vehicles.
We are an Award winning Charity that has the core belief that everyone has potential, something to offer and a valuable contribution to make to their community.
We use a person centered approach to keep the people we support safe, happy and healthy and to ensure each individual is able to live a life that makes sense to them. Using a Positive Behavior Support strategy ensures we see the person first, not their disability.
