Job Title: Research & Development Technician
Salary: £13.80 p/h - (£25k) - 12 month contract
Location: Derbyshire - Birch Vale
Working for a reputable global company in one of the sites over in Derbyshire. You will be responsible for research and development of new products and solutions for new or existing customers and applications. This would predominantly be office and laboratory based with the opportunity to travel to participate in external plant and customer trials. You will be working and reporting directly to the TS&D team.
Formulation of PU systems using existing raw materials and screen of additives
Understand and analyse how changes in the formulation and process can impact production, quality and final products properties.
Recording experimental data information and data, and reporting of results
Recording of experimental information and data, and reporting of results and progress as appropriate.
Laboratory scale sample preparation using processing equipment or pilot reactors.
Adhering to all health and safety policies at all times and wearing the correct equipment when required to do so
Candidates should have the following:
Have excellent numeric and good written and verbal skills
Be curious, enthusiastic and flexible.
Have a strong scientific proactive approach to problem solving in product characterisation and testing, with a keen attention to detail.
Be efficient, organised and able to work independently
Possess effective interpersonal and team-working skills
HNC/Degree in a science related field
Have relevant experience working in a similar laboratory environment individually and part of a team
1/2 years experience is preferred
