RMN/RNLD Clinical Lead, Cannock
Salary to circa £37400 per annum - FULLY SUPERNUMERARY POST

40 hours per week - predominantly Monday to Friday

Experts2care are delighted to be working in close partnership with an innovative care provider to recruit an RMN/RNLD Clinical Lead for a large elderly complex needs/dementia Nursing Home in the Cannock area. The company are award winning and operate residential, dementia and nursing care homes throughout the UK, with a focus on the highest possible standards of living for residents and peace of mind for family and friends alike. This role will be to support the Home Manager and Deputy Manager with the standards in the home, focusing on quality care.

Main Duties for RGN/RMN/RNLD Clinical Lead: 

The RGN/RMN/.RNLD Clinical Lead will work closely with the Home Manager and management team to ensure that the home is well led and the service user’s physical, social, emotional and recreational needs are met, ensuring that the highest quality of care is afforded to all service users
Ensure that the highest quality of nursing care is afforded to all residents and maintain a sound working knowledge of current care/nursing legislation/standards.
To build and maintain good relationships with residents and their relatives, promoting at all times, the health and wellbeing of service users and to ensure each service user has an active, varied and interesting life which respects individual choice and capability.
To undertake assessments for new residents, design and plan service delivery.
To supervise the preparation of Person Centred Care Plans, Review & Assessments, implementing plans with the assistance of a care team.
Prepare and/or contribute to reports, reviews and assessments in order to enhance the quality of services.
Ensure records are maintained and updated as required in order to enhance the quality of services in relation to maintaining the well-being, dignity, quality of life and environment of the service users.
Ensure that service user confidentiality & dignity is maintained at all times.
Undertake regular supervisions/appraisals to assess performance and encourage development. Co-ordinate and run Nurse Meetings to deliver information and maintain best practice.
Encourage and lead the Nurse Team to deliver supervisions/appraisals and promote strong leadership development.
Ensure that Nurses are trained in line with company policy and procedures and they up to date and current with competency booklets/portfolios. Ensure that all nurse pins are up to date and active and liaise with NMC over any matters concerning service delivery.
To continuously review your practices to develop new skills and knowledge through continuous professional development and training maintain a sound working knowledge of current care/nursing legislation/standards that contributes to the enhancement of patient care skills.
Lead by example having a presence on the units and being accessible. The role will also involve office based activities which will require the post holder to be flexible to meet the needs of the home.
Ensure the services is up to date with all clinical matters and undertake regular audits to demonstrate this.
Complete notifications to CQC, clinical and accident outcomes.
Undertake care plans and medication audits.
Ensure that the care home and it’s services are marketed in the most effective manner to external bodies and professionals e.g. GPs surgeries, social workers, hospitals, registered housing associations, Age Concern, and the public at large.
To undertake and lead projects to improve service provision as and when required
Promote company initiatives and manage delivery within the services provision, ensuring that all staff are working to company policies and procedures, and to take appropriate action to ensure that standards are reached and maintained.
As a member of the management team, support the Manager in meeting the Company’s policies, procedures and legal obligations. Additionally, ensure that you are always up to date with company issues and performance targets, and undertake company projects as and when required.
Oversee the implementation of training provision as indicated in the training matrix.
Take responsibility and accountability for the establishment, its resources and services during the Manager’s authorised absence.

Ensure the manager is kept up to date on any ongoing issues on a regular basis.
Share on call responsibilities with the managers which will include weekend cover.
To ensure that health and safety regulations and equal opportunities are adhered to at all times. Be aware of emergency procedures, report hazards to the Manager and respond to emergencies as appropriate.
Ensure the service provision is anti-discriminatory and culturally sensitive responding to individual needs, with regard to race, religion, culture, language, gender, sexual orientation, age and disability.

Job Requirements

Main requirements for RMN/RNLD Clinical Lead:

Nursing qualification - RMN or RNLD. Current NMC PIN. Eligibility to work in UK. Experience in a Nursing Home environment. Good understanding and experience of Dementia, Mental Health and Complex needs
