We have an exciting new opportunity for GPs to get involved with in Leeds.
A private company are running a NHS service out of 2 sites in Leeds, they are needing salaried GPs to offer care for the services patients 7 days a week. You can work either part time or full time, and they are happy to be very flexible with working hours, so you could fit this role around any current commitments. They are making multiple hires to cover the hours so you'll be working alongside like-minded healthcare professional that'll help support and ensure the service continues to perform.
So far the service has been very successful since its inception 4 years ago, with around 8000 patients cared for within that time. There has been a slight alteration made from the CCG meaning that this service now operates as a Primary Care site, rather than the Outpatient service that it once was. You'll be seeing patients that have been discharged from hospital that are most commonly elderly and frail patients who suffer from acute concerns that are not serious enough for hospital. This service acts as a type of admission avoidance, stalling the patients from entering Hospitals but also easing the burden of local GP sites who would commonly see a lot of these ailments.
You must be GMC registered to be considered, and ideally have a special interest or prior work experience with elderly and frail patients. If successful for the role, the hours and salary are negotiable but will be dependant on experience. You will receive 6 week annual leave, indemnity costs provided for you and NHS pension.
