Sales Manager

The role involves generating sales and driving commercial opportunities for our client’s assay development and custom manufacturing services. The position will involve targeting key individuals within IVD, biotechnology and product development companies.

Requiring a proven track record in sales with at least 2 years’ experience. Candidates should preferably have senior level contacts in major biotechnology and IVD companies to increase sales of our client's services and products.

Responsibilities:

* Generate business by selling our client’s services and products

* Identify, qualify and close business with key IVD and biotechnology companies

* Weekly reporting against your annual revenue target

* Attend conferences and trade shows, showcasing our client as an excellent option for outsourced development

* Assist in the generation of marketing materials, draft abstracts, and press releases, posters, publications, email blasts and flyers relevant to our client’s activities

* Manage and update Customer Relationship Databases (CRM)

* Responsible for all stages of the sales process, including initially proactively searching for leads, to discuss our client’s capabilities in assay development, custom manufacturing and strategic partnership

* Face to face meetings are essential to the success of the role.

Ideal background/ experience:

* An excellent understanding of molecular diagnostics, immunoassay and lateral flow assay development and applications is essential.

* Commercial background

* Diagnostic experience (useful but not essential)

* Experience of selling CRO services

* Proven background in scientific service sales

* Ability and attitude to work off a blank canvas, and be proactive in seeking new business from a mixture of warm/cold leads

Travel requirements:

UK wide

The incoming candidate could be the focal point in their growth strategy, take ownership of their own clients and workload, and quickly grow/progress into more senior positions
