They cover a range of medical and surgical specialties including Orthopaedics, Oncology, Cardiac, Cosmetic, Ophthalmology, and Paediatric & General. We are currently looking to recruit a Theatre Practitioner to join team of one of their leading hospitals based in Guildford. This state of the art facility boasts 4 operating Theatres ( +1 digital operation), a chemotherapy unit, acute dependency unit and 49 en-suite private bedrooms.

Working alongside the Theatre Manager you will be responsible for assessing, planning and implementing the right standards of care to all patients who are undergoing surgical procedures. Your day to day will involve preparing the equipment and instruments according to the needs of the patient and the surgeon's specifications, updating the surgeon's preference cards, ensuring all equipment is checked prior to use, reporting any faults immediately and working as part of a cohesive team. You may also be assigned other ad hoc duties as required by senior members of staff
To be considered for this role you will have at least 1-year experience working as a scrub nurse. Ideally you will be competent in scrubbing across multiple specialties. Experience in orthopaedics, plastics, max fax, ENT, gynaecology and Urology would be preferred. Part of this role involves having an innate attention to detail with a strong ability to work well under pressure. You will adapt easily to situations and be a good communicator within a team. Computer competency would also be a vital part of the role.
