Job Description

A global leader in the polymer sector are looking for a Senior Analytical Chemist for their world-class manufacturing site based in Lancashire. The Senior Analytical Chemist will provide analysis of the manufacturing process input and outputs and you will independently plan and execute technical projects and work programs to provide analytical solutions to the R&D department.

To be considered for this Senior Analytical Chemist position you will have at least a degree in Chemistry or closely related subject, along with significant experience working within an analytical environment within the chemicals, polymers or pharmaceuticals sector. You will be skilled in performing a range of analytical tests including GC-MS, LC-MS, GCP and HPLC. Candidates who possess experience in method development would be highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

Work closely with customers to solve technical problems
Plan and execute analytical projects work to develop applications and knowledge
Develop and maintain awareness in relevant technical fields, keeping up to date with market trends
Provide technical support to R&D
Perform testing and analysis on raw materials, process streams and products
Identify process deviations through evaluation of analytical data
Identify and characterise non-conforming materials
Calibration of instruments and preparation of standards
Deliver process support to manufacturing, through provision of in-process testing

Knowledge and Experience

Minimum BSc in Chemistry, Analytical Science or closely related subject
Significant experience spent within an analytical environment either within the chemicals, pharmaceuticals or polymers sectors
Previous analysis via a broad range of analytical techniques, including GC-MS, LC-MS, GPC and HPLC
An understanding of method development & validation, someone with proven experience in this would be highly desirable
