Senior Care Assistants - Whitehead, Northern Ireland

Pay: £9.85 per hour

42hr day duty position available

The Company

Our client has over 25 years' experience in the private Nursing Home sector. Each Home has a reputation for delivering high quality nursing care. There are a number Nursing Homes in the Group located in Northern Ireland.

The Role

As part of the caring team, the main aim is support the nurse in charge and to act as supervisor and a role model to other Care Assistants. The other main purpose is to help create and maintain a healthy and safe environment where the personal nursing needs of the Residents are met under the direction and supervision of the Nurse in Charge.

Role Responsibilities:

- Provision of Care in accordance with agreed Care Plans.
- General involvement in our residents' wellbeing, protection and support.
- Understand and observe the Nursing Home Policies and procedures.
- Participate fully in training to maximise job performance
- Supervise care delivery - ensure Care Assistants report back at all times
- Direct the general routine of the Care Assistants in collaboration with the Nurse In Charge to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the Home.

Skills & Experience:

- At least six months experience working in a similar environment
- Have or be working towards NVQ Level 3 in Adult Health & Social Care
- Personal experience of working as a carer

Key Qualities:

- Ability to use initiative
- Ability to accept responsibility
- Ability to tolerate stress

Salary and Benefits

- £9.85 per hour
- 42hr day duty positions available
- Level 3 in Adult Health & Social Care or equivalent qualification desirable but will consider applicants who are currently enrolled and working towards this qualification
