This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and energetic Senior Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to work in the A & E of Mental Health. You will be working in a very dynamic environment which will provide you with many opportunities to learn and develop your therapeutic and systemic skills. There will also be opportunities to be creative and innovative within the role bringing new ideas, incorporating evidence based practice to how the service is delivered.
You will support and assist the core aims within the service both in direct clinical work and as a positive member of the multi-disciplinary team and wider service. The post holder has an important strategic and liaison function to support the transition of patients between services. You will provide psychological assessment and treatment within a multi-disciplinary team and offer consultation and treatment for our more complex cases. The successful candidate will also offer clinical supervision to assistant psychologists and trainees as well as Band 7 Psychologists and our multi-disciplinary colleagues. There will be opportunities to take a lead role in service development orientated research and publishing research.
Our commitment to you includes support though regular clinical and managerial supervision as well as training to develop both professionally and personally within the role. There are many CPD options as well as opportunities to join specialist supervision groups such as the Trauma Clinical Network Group and other similar groups.
Doctoral level training in Clinical/Counselling psychology is essential with some post-qualification expertise of patients with complex presentations and dual diagnoses. You must have current registration with the HCPC and be appointable to Band 8a under Agenda for Change..
