We are looking to recruit an experienced Dosimetrist (Clinical Technologist or Therapeutic Radiographer), with particular skills and interest in Treatment Planning and Mould room duties. The post holder will participate largely in these areas but experience in Brachytherapy or Linac QA and Dosimetry would be beneficial.
The Radiotherapy Physics Service has ~48 scientific and technical staff working to treat approximately 4000 new patients per year on 6 linear accelerators, 2 TomoTherapy HD units, and a CyberKnife unit. The department has 2 wide-bore CT scanners, a dedicated HDR suite, and Raystation, Monaco, TomoTherapy and CK planning systems.
The post holder will participate primarily within the Treatment Planning and Mould Room sections of the radiotherapy department, and should have extensive experience in 3DCRT and IMRT planning techniques. UHB currently delivers IMRT to 60% of radical patients. 4DCT and SABR techniques are in routine use, as is a well developed adaptive planning service. UHB has been designated as a SABR Commissioning through Evaluation centre for all current clinical indications, with delivery on CyberKnife and Elekta Versa FFF platforms. Participation in these services, clinical trials and in technical developments across the department would be expected.
Due to the nature of the role the post holder will be expected to work flexibly as the service requires. Applications from less experienced candidates would be considered for appointment at a lower band.
