Are you looking for an exciting new challenge with lots of development opportunities? Would you like to work in Lancashire Teaching Hospitals ‘Team of the Year 2017? If so we have an exciting opening within our Major Trauma Ward for a senior health care assistant.

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals is one of the largest foundation trusts in the North West. We provide a range of specialist tertiary services including cancer, renal, plastics, neurosciences and specialist mobility and rehabilitation.

We are the major trauma centre for Lancashire and South Cumbria. This means our hospitals deliver the latest treatment for a broad spectrum of serious, complex and uncommon conditions. We also provide the local hospital services for the 400,000 population of Central Lancashire from our hospitals in Preston and Chorley.

In March 2016 we opened a new 10 bed Major Trauma Ward in response to our designation as a regional Major Trauma Centre, and to enable us to better provide the specialist care and treatment to Major Trauma patients. Since then we have built a team of enthusiastic, hard-working, motivated staff who provide excellent care with compassion and we are offering you the opportunity to join us.

We are looking to recruit senior health care assistants with acute NHS hospital experience, who have an interest in the care and experience of patients who have been involved in a major trauma incident, who require empathetic, knowledgeable and skilled care. You will be joining Lancashire Teaching Hospitals ‘Team of the Year 2017’. A team who are dedicated to the high standard of nursing care given to our patients, who have a passion for nursing as well as an enthusiasm for championing the needs of the patient and their families and carers.

We always put patients first, and believe that creating a positive working environment, where staff feel valued, supported and empowered, will enable us to achieve this for every patient, every time. We expect every single member of staff to treat patients, families and colleagues with care and compassion, and to work together to achieve the very best outcomes. As an organisation we believe that every staff member plays a vital role in the delivery of excellent care with compassion, we are proud of our hospitals, and of the quality of care we provide for our patients, and that makes this a great place to work.

As a Teaching Hospital we are committed to your continuous personal and professional development, so it will come as no surprise for you to hear that we offer a wide range of clinical and non-clinical development opportunities ranging from time management to interview skills. We are keen to provide all our staff with the opportunity to learn, which means some of our courses are provided via online learning through our own dedicated Trust site, so staff can develop knowledge as and when they want or need to.

Due to the high volumes of applications we receive for certain posts, we reserve the right to close any adverts before the published closing date once we have received a sufficient number of applications

Interview Date: 13th September 2019
