A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to join Cumbria County Council as a Senior Manager for our Older Adults Residential Care Homes.

This pivotal role requires leadership and management of the Council's twenty in house Residential Care services. We have recently opened two new £6m state of the art 60 bed Residential Care Homes in Carlisle and Whitehaven and are continuing to invest in the rest of our homes to ensure we can continue to provide the high quality care that we pride ourselves on. This role will include acting as the nominated individual for the services for CQC inspection purposes.

As the Senior Manager for Cumbria Care - Older Adults Residential you will be required to drive quality and continuous improvement for all our homes, develop and support our Residential managers and their staff teams in delivering quality care and contribute to the strategic direction and future shape of the service going forward.

You will lead on the implementation of change across the service and you will need to be able to develop and build effective partnerships and encourage collaborative working with stakeholders. This includes health partners and the local communities around Cumbria.

You will be responsible for over 400 staff, with direct line management of a small number of Operational Managers who work on an area basis.

The successful candidate will be a key member of the Cumbria Care Senior Management Team overseeing delivery and development of all of our in-house care provision.

The successful candidate will have:

+ Significant experience at a Senior Manager Level of Care Services for Adults, within either a Social Care, Health, Voluntary sector, Independent sector or a multi-agency environment.
+ Experience of successfully managing Older People Residential Care Homes
+ Experience of delivering change effectively
+ Experience of motivating and managing a wide, diverse and geographically spread workforce
