Senior Nurse
Plymouth, Full Time
up to £29,000

Senior Registered Nurse required for our private client in Plymouth which is one of the top hospitals to achieve an 'Outstanding' rating by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

The Client

Our client offers high quality elective surgery in state-of-the-art facilities. They specialise in hip and knee joint replacements, shoulder repair, hand and elbow surgery, foot surgery and minor orthopaedic procedures. They also deliver Ophthalmology, General and ENT surgery.

The Role

As the senior shift leader on the ward, you will act as clinical lead for all registered nurses on the ward, supporting and working with the ward manager. Key duties will include:

  • Ensuring staff are assessed and found competent in all clinical practices, particularly including the mentorship of new, student and junior staff
  • Providing clear and consistent communication to the multidisciplinary team, achieving and maintaining high morale based on sound organisation
  • Formulation and delivering a collaborative programme of patient care which is clinically effective, evidence based and appropriate
  • Attending monthly quality governance meetings, head of departments monthly and weekly communication and scheduling meetings in the absence of the ward manager

The Candidate

To be successful in this role you will have: -

  • NMC Registration (Part 1)
  • A qualification in teaching and assessment
  • Immediate Life Support (ILS)
  • Extensive post registration surgical experience in a variety of surgical specialities
  • The ability to manage a team and plan their work effectively
  • The ability to teach/train nursing staff

Our client is offering a competitive salary of £29,000 and you will also be able to benefit from their fully supported training programmes, on site café and free parking.

This service is open Monday to Friday so working hours will be rotational according to opening times.
