Senior Occupational Therapist

Acute Stroke – Static Band 6            

Full time (37.5 hours)

Therapy Services, Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford

We have a vacancy for an experienced HCPC registered Senior Occupational Therapist to join our specialist therapy team on the Acute Stroke Unit at Broomfield Hospital. The ideal person will have excellent clinical skills and a desire to develop their stroke knowledge and skills further.

We have a 32 bedded unit providing acute stroke care. This includes care for patients post thrombolysis and patients that return to us following thrombectomy treatment at a neighbouring trust. The stroke unit works closely with the local Stroke Rehabilitation Units and Early Supported Discharge team and actively participates in Stroke research.

Therapy Services is a friendly and supportive department with a strong focus on professional and personal development, and a commitment to regular clinical supervision for all staff, as well as annual appraisal.

Supervision of junior staff, assistants and therapy students is also part of this role. There is a requirement for the post holder to participate in our rostered weekend and public holiday service.

MEHT contracts are subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period.

All Registered Nurse/Midwife/Theatre Practitioner or ODP you will be required to take a Drug Calculation Test. (please note 100% pass mark required)

All HCA/HCSW/MCA will be required to take a Literacy and Numeracy test (80% pass required) as part of the pre employment process.
