Job Description

OT - Chingford - £35k to £40k Per Annum - Band 6
Our client is looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist, who is looking for a new position in Chingford and surrounding area as this position will require travel to other company sites.
Our client is ambitious about what the individual in their care can achieve and therefore focus on individual Care Pathways, positive goals, and the persons journey onto the least restrictive service.
You will ideally have a previous experience within a supported living environment, providing person centred care to individuals with complex needs for service users in the Chingford area with travel to High Wycombe, Waltham and Erith at least once a week.
You will be responsible for the effective delivery of the Occupational Therapy services across the area, for adults in residential community rehabilitation units who present with complex needs and learning disability.
Key areas include:
* To receive delegated referrals from Lead OT, independently manage and prioritise that case load.
* To work autonomously and independently with access to sessional, clinical supervision.
* To devise, implement and evaluate treatment programmes.
* To complete comprehensive assessments of clients, using clinical reasoning to select appropriate assessment techniques which lead you to identify the client’s strengths and needs. This will involve seeking and sharing personal and potentially sensitive information with the client.
* To agree appropriate and realistic goals for treatment with the client and so produce a comprehensive treatment plan in order to achieve these goals.
* To delegate appropriate case load to staff within our services, helping prioritise and ensure programmes of therapeutic activities are implemented.
* To have the ability to work without direct supervision in community rehabilitation units delivering client programmes adhering to local and national professional standards whilst keeping the Lead OT informed.
* To assist with developing and delivering relevant OT training as part of the internal training programme. To ensure personal training is completed on an annual basis.
* To be a proactive member of the multi-disciplinary team and other agencies (e.g. Social services, Voluntary agencies) ensuring that effective communication and liaison takes place at all times.
* o be a qualified OT, HCPC registration and membership of the British Association of Occupational Therapists (BAOT).
The ideal candidate will need to be a ‘problem solver’ who can work collaboratively with MDT and while working autonomously in the Chingford and surrounding area.
Working 40 hours per week in the Chingford/surrounding area with input into service users in Waltham Abbey Eirth and High Wycombe.
