Senior Pharmacy Technician - Education & Training posted by Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

Full Time
Milton Keynes
£30,401 - £37,267 / year

Job Description

It is an exciting time to join the pharmacy team at MKUH; we are continually growing in size and influence and have recently received significant investment to build a new Aseptic Unit, to replace our Pharmacy Robot and to refurbish the Pharmacy Department.

Our services are being developed to offer patients, nursing and medical staff more time with pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, to ensure that every patient receives safe, high quality care as our patients are at the heart of everything that we do.

To support this exciting agenda we are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated pharmacy technician to join our team and contribute supporting and developing our workforce for today and the future.

You will work closely with our Education & Training Pharmacist to:-

  • Lead the training of pharmacy assistants and pre-registration pharmacy technicians
  • Develop the use of the apprenticeship model within the pharmacy workforce
  • Support the development and delivery of post-registration pharmacy technician training
  • Support the delivery of dispensary and ward based pharmacy services
  • Support all aspects of workforce development within the pharmacy team

To apply for this job, you must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.

We have recently restructured our working hours meaning that standards hours are now four long days per week with weekends covered on a rota basis. You will contribute to the pharmacy out of hours service following a period of induction and training.

If you are successful, you will work in a supportive and forward thinking environment where you will be encouraged with your professional and personal development.
