Our rapidly expanding client is looking to recruit a Senior product Development Scientist to work within R & D. You will be working within research, design, development and validation of new products with particular emphasis on building a pipeline of potential new products.

You will be responsible for leading and supporting activities in the R&D team that will further research, design, develop or validate new products or help deliver respective projects. You will also be helping to support the formation of pipeline of potential projects and lead early stage work.

Skills required:

* Degree in Biomedical/Pharma/Chemistry/Materials/Physics

* 8 years previous experience in R&D/lab setting

* Knowledge of working in a medical device/adjacent technology area

* Knowledge of standards and design control

* Microsoft office/project literate

Duties and responsibilities:

* Support the formation of a pipeline of early stage projects for new products

* Lead early stage projects with an emphasis on:

* Technical development of concept

* Formation of business case

* Projected timelines/costs

* Potentially lead later stage development or delivery of key projects, including:

* Lead raw material sourcing and selection activities

* Lead machine trials & optimisation

* Lead laboratory investigations into performance of the product

* Supplier facing contact and lead on working relationship with potential new partners

* Provide support under the direction of others in activities such as:

* Raw material selection

* Root cause analysis

* Machine trials

* To support the day to day running of the R&D laboratory by:

* Working in a quality compliant manner

* Recording experiment and trial results and observations

* Maintaining equipment and cleanliness in the workspace

* Consider H&S implications of working environment

* Regular communication with wider team on progress to deliverables

* To provide occasional quality compliance support in areas such as:

* Internal audits

* Finished product testing
