We are recruiting for a Senior Sister / Senior Midwife who shares our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best of People and has the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.
Medway Maternity Services support approximately 5,000 women and babies per annum. We are a forward thinking and motivated team who endeavour to provide a high quality of care to our women, their babies and their families. We have achieved and sustained Baby Friendly Initiative Stage 2 and are now working to achieve level three. We are proud to have recently been awarded the RCM ‘Maternity service of the year’ award (2019) and continually strive to improve the quality of care that we provide.
We are looking for a dynamic midwife with up to date knowledge, skills and experience to lead our postnatal ward. The successful post holder will provide effective clinical and managerial leadership to the maternity team and act as a professional role model. They will be motivated and organised, with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), and be able to thrive in partnership with a multidisciplinary team.
The successful post holder will show innovation in their approach to providing the best of care, keeping women and their families at the centre of all that we do through continual service evaluation and development. They will demonstrate the ability to promote positive team working while supporting and leading a team.
The Senior Sister / Senior Midwife will be expected to largely work weekday / daytime hours but will be required to participate in a rota of late shifts, weekends and on calls in order to maintain a visible and supportive senior presence in the maternity department.
