Opportunities: We are currently looking to recruit some Senior Paediatric nurses to work in one of their facilities in Central London.
Reporting into the Sister/Charge Nurse you will provide clinical leadership to junior members of staff, ensuring that the provision of high quality nursing care to children and their families. As a senior member of staff you will be in charge of the shifts and supervise all junior members of staff on the ward and also deputising for the Sisters and Nurse Managers in their absence. Part of your role will involve bed planning and ensuring that you have enough staff on the ward at all times to adequately care for all of the patients along with for ensuring that there are adequate care plans in place each patient. You will have an innate ability to quickly identify any issues or concerns and act accordingly. You will also participate in ward rounds and assist medical staff with clinical procedures when required. You will also be responsible for ensuring that documentation is completed accurately and within agreed timescales. Working in a senior role you will act as a mentor to student nurses ensuring that they provided with a supportive and challenging environment to work in. You will also be assigned other ad hoc duties by senior members of staff as per the units requirements. . To be considered for this role you will have experience of working as a Children's Nurse and a valid Registered Children's Nurse pin number or working towards this. You will have basic/intermediate paediatric life support and a good understanding of safeguarding issues. Ideally working in a senior role you will have experience of teaching and mentoring along with excellent clinical governance and experience of audits. You will be a caring and compassionate nurse with strong attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure. Working as part of a team you will have excellent communication skills and be a good team player.
