Senior Staff Nurse Critical Care/ITU Surrey Permanent, FT - 37.5 hrs PW up to £33,000

Opportunities: We are looking to recruit experienced Staff Nurses to join their ICU department. As part of the ICU team you will be expected to work on the surgical ward as well as the ITU department. You will also work closely with the ITU/Critical Care Lead to develop the team.
Reporting into critical care lead you will be responsible for planning and delivering appropriate care for admissions and discharges to the unit. You will have an innate ability to quickly identify any issues or concerns and act accordingly. Working as part of the team you will be competent across Venepuncture, Cannulation and Phlebotomy, carrying out these tasks on a daily basis while maintaining a safe environment for patients under your care. On occasion you may have to act in absence of the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse and will accept delegated responsibilities. You will directly line manage a cohort of HCA's delivering their appraisals and setting their objectives as per hospital policy. You will work with senior management to ensure continued improvement of the unit and nursing standards by providing support for competency assessments and practical training.
To be considered for this role you would have at least 2+ years experience working in ICU/Critical Care along with a post grad qualification in this field of nursing. A mentorship qualification is not essential however would be desirable. You will be a caring and compassionate nurse with strong attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure. Working as part of a team you will have excellent communication skills and be a good team player and possess strong leadership skills.
